Currently they have the 2nd best record in baseball and you would be hard pressed to find more than 2 and a half minuet where they talk about Tampa Bay. It all boils down to what makes the world go ‘round: <strong>money</strong>.</p>
<p><span id="more-106"></span>Wait, what? Money? Yes, it is all about marketing, name recognition and money. Take a look at the MLB page for ESPN.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.clicktoremove.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/espn-fronpage.jpg" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.clicktoremove.net');" rel="lightbox"><img class="size-medium wp-image-108" title="espn fronpage" src="http://www.clicktoremove.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/espn-fronpage-300x187.jpg" alt="espn front page" width="300" height="187" /></a></p>
<p>What do you see? Teams that have name recognition. The Yankees are perhaps the most recognizable team, but there are a few others on the top of the list: the Cubs, White Sox, the Braves, and even to some extent, the Indians and Angels. ESPN and other sports outlets <strong>can make more money talking about these teams</strong> – even when they lose – than they can by talking about what is actually going on in baseball.</p>
<p>The Rays aren’t alone. Ever hear about Oakland, St. Louis, and Milwaukee? They all have better records than the Yanks, but they are not the emotional button that can be pressed.</p>
<p>Take a look around, listen. Do you hear much about the Rays?</p>

<p><span id="more-97"></span>The <a href="http://www.hisdigital.com/html/product_ov.php?id=340" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.hisdigital.com');">HIS iClear Card</a> is the self proclaimed “best solution to video card noise reduction”.  Truthfully, it’s a little un-clear what the card does.   Looking at the card itself, there is not much to it.  Reading more in the description, the card, placed in between two video cards, will reduce the noise in the picture and signal loss.  Really? Lets look at the specs:</p>

<p>No, there is no problem with your computer, those are the specs as <a href="http://www.hisdigital.com/html/product_sp.php?id=340" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.hisdigital.com');">provided by the manufacturer</a>.  These stats apparently represent the “State-of-the-art design” referred to on the website.  For $79.99 (via <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16800997026&amp;Tpk=his%2biclear" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.newegg.com');">newegg.com</a>) this reminds me of the crazy markup that was occurring (and still does) on HDMI cables before an internet revolt toward cheap substitutes.</p>
<p>For those naysayers which will tell me about the actual benefits from this card, there is some<a href="http://www.digit-life.com/articles3/monitor/his-iclear.html" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.digit-life.com');"> technical data out there</a> about the actual performance of the card, and an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/25/his-iclear-claims-to-reduce-noise-really-just-fills-an-empty-pc/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.engadget.com');">Engadget post</a> about how it’s all a load of crap. Never the less, they are doing what every American dreams of: <strong>selling nothing for something</strong>.</p>

<p>That was fiction (and so was the <a href="http://gizmodo.com/340515/area-man-parks-car-on-house-roof-tells-police-gps-made-me-do-it" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/gizmodo.com');">Gizmodo story</a> about the car through the roof of the house), but there are a number of accidents and mishaps caused by people foolishly listening to their GPS’s.</p>
<ul>
<li>A 78-year-old man going 80 mph made a <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2004/12/03/gps-causes-accident-in-france/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.autoblog.com');">u-turn on the highway</a></li>
<li>A girl followed <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/south_west/6646331.stm" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/news.bbc.co.uk');">GPS instructions onto a train track</a>, much to her car’s demise</li>
<li>Bus Driver <a href="http://www.autoblog.com/2008/04/18/driver-puts-faith-in-gps-sheers-off-top-of-charter-bus-on-bridg/2" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.autoblog.com');">ripped off top of a charter bus</a> going under a bridge</li>
</ul>
<p>The list of these stories will continue to grow as units grow cheaper and the everyday man can afford it all the more. IT is because of this we at ClickToRemove.net have decided to introduce a new bumper sticker that will give an easy explanation for all of the countries driving hiccups.</p>
<p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><a href="http://www.clicktoremove.net/merchandise/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.clicktoremove.net');"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-60" title="Bumper Sticker - my GPS made me do it" src="http://www.clicktoremove.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/gettnaspx-300x233.jpg" alt="Bumper Sticker - my GPS made me do it" width="300" height="233" /></a></p>
<p>Put it on your car - slap it on your computer. This is the best way to slough off your problems onto faulty GPS directions. Printed on a four-color sheet-fed printing press with fade-resistant inks, these stickers are 4.5″(w) x 3.5″(h) white vinyl with a gloss finish and crack ‘n’ peel backing.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.clicktoremove.net/merchandise/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.clicktoremove.net');">MGMMDI sticker</a> will be available <strong><a href="http://www.clicktoremove.net/merchandise/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.clicktoremove.net');">FREE</a></strong> (plus S+H) for a limited time so act fast to get yours before the holiday rush.</p>

This being the case, he has not withdrawn his name from the running for the FedEx Cup.</p>
<p>“I told my fans that I would be in it to the end, and I am not going to Quit.”</p>
<p><span id="more-90"></span>The FedEx Cup was first awarded in 2007 and was created as a way to build drama throughout a year’s schedule. Points are awarded for each event participated and lead up to a playoff. Currently Tiger Woods has about 22 thousand points. Last year Woods won with 123,000 points.</p>
<p>“The Florida fan base is not looking to be disenfranchised by Tiger&#8217;s withdraw,” said Tim Schultz of the Florida Golf Party. “We are really looking for the super-fans to come through at the end of the season.”</p>
<p>Some naysayers purport that Woods is just posturing a 2009 victory. Regardless, he easily claims the popular vote.</p>

He hoped to save the domain until the release of the second Narnia film. Then he would give it to his son as a birthday present and let his use it for his email. Now, some two weeks before the release of Prince Caspian in Great Brittan Saville-Smith has been <a href="http://www.thelawyer.com/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=133410&amp;d=415&amp;h=417&amp;f=416" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.thelawyer.com');">served with a 128-page order</a> to release the domain from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).</p>
<p>It seems that the company that owns the rights to the works of C S Lewis has decided that after letting the Narnia.mobi domain expire, sit around for three months in the grace period, and then be in the possession of an Edinburgh father for a year and a half they want it back. Apparently the United Nations organization, WIPO, agrees and has felt pressure from a New York firm to try and snatch it back.</p>
<p><span id="more-86"></span></p>
<p><strong>This is Ridiculous</strong><br />
Looking at the face value of this, it seems to be Big business and the UN pushing the little guy around. You may add in the fact that Saville-Smith owns 78 domains and the page is parked with some click through ads, but it still seems like an unjust prosecution of an individual. There is no bad faith in action. He doesn&#8217;t make any money off the ads, they are on a parking page provided by <a href="http://www.sedo.com" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.sedo.com');">Sedo</a> (the hosting company). <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybersquatting" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/en.wikipedia.org');">Cybersquatting laws</a> were not intended to squelch free speech and allow lazy trademark holders to stomp all over people.</p>

The media isn’t alone. Folks seem to be very defensive about Obama. You can see it in the forums, in comments, and in listener email. That’s what John Curry found after the June 7th episode of <a href="”http://www.mevio.com/feeds/noagenda.xml”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.mevio.com');">No Agenda</a>. Some people felt that he and John Dvorak were unnecessarily bashing Obama. It is to this news that Dvorak said something very interesting.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Obama is the new Macintosh – you can’t say anything.”</p></blockquote>
<p><span id="more-85"></span>There is a lot of truth to this statement. Obama is defended by religious zealots. If you say anything negative the fanboys appear and go crazy, sometimes issuing <a href="”http://wizbangblue.com/2008/02/23/obama-supporters-issue-death-threats-against-critic.php”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/wizbangblue.com');">death threats to bloggers</a>.</p>
<p>While no candidate is perfect, Dvorak is not the first to make this comparison. Roughly Drafted Magazine made some interesting notes on Obama and McCain’s <a href="”http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2008/05/21/obamas-apple-mccains-microsoft-the-politics-of-tech/”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.roughlydrafted.com');">connection to technology</a>. Glenn Beck talked about how Obama has an image like <a href="”http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2008/05/21/obamas-apple-mccains-microsoft-the-politics-of-tech/”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.roughlydrafted.com');">apple, hybrids, and the like</a> on his show. Matt Cooper compared <a href="”http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2008/05/21/obamas-apple-mccains-microsoft-the-politics-of-tech/”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.roughlydrafted.com');">Obama and Clinton to the tech industry</a> including Clinton as Dell in the mix. The list goes on and on</p>
<p>Here’s the problem: Apple’s market share is somewhere around <a href="”http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/10/17/apples_u_s_mac_market_share_rises_to_8_1_percent_in_q3.html" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.appleinsider.com');">8.1 percent</a>. While they are a rather loud minority, you wonder if they can provide the number of electoral votes needed to win the presidency.</p>
<p>Most folks remember the <a href="”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h3G-lMZxjo”" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.youtube.com');">1984 Apple Ad</a> that was redone with the democratic candidates, but here is one Obama ad you might have missed.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7Bpp8sdBDQY&#038;hl=en&#038;rel=0"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7Bpp8sdBDQY&#038;hl=en&#038;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object></p>
